P.P Concrete Fibers

A product for enhancing tensile and flexural strength and preventing cracking in structures

Introduction of P.P. Concrete Fibers

Glass fibers made from polypropylene chips are used to enhance the flexural and tensile strength of structures and to prevent the formation of surface and deep cracks in concrete, cement mortars, and plasters. The shrinkage of concrete and mortar after drying and reaching final set leads to dimensional changes, resulting in numerous surface and deep cracks. By incorporating a small amount of P.P fiber during concrete pouring and cement application, cracks are significantly reduced. These fibers have a specific gravity of 0.91 grams per cubic centimeter, a tensile strength of 300 to 400 megapascals, and a length of 12 millimeters.

Advantages of P.P. Concrete Fibers

Control of tensile and flexural stresses due to temperature fluctuations, prevention of cracking in concrete and cement mortars, enhancement of strength in repair mortars and stress points in structures, reduction of concrete density, increase of concrete’s safety factor against static and dynamic loads, creation of isotropic conditions and reduction of concrete’s brittleness, improvement of concrete ductility, absorption of impact energy, and elimination of the need for additional water in concrete due to hydrophobic properties.

Applications of P.P. Fiber in Concrete

Manufacturing precast concrete components (such as slabs, concrete blocks, and walls), precast gypsum and straw components, spraying concrete on curved surfaces (like tunnels), reducing the thickness of concrete slabs while maintaining their strength, constructing impact-resistant structures such as shelters and explosive storage facilities, building airport runways, concrete dam bodies, protective walls, and nuclear reactor buildings, producing various repair mortars, stabilizing and securing rocky slopes and landslide-prone walls, foundations for large industrial motors and machinery like turbines and diesel generators, and manufacturing prestressed concrete beams and impact-absorbing piles.

General Method of Implementing P.P. Fiber Concrete: (Execution methods may vary depending on the location of implementation.)

The P.P concrete fibers can be added to the mixer at any time. (If the fibers are added to the water at the end, they should be poured into the mixer and mixed for an additional 3 to 4 minutes to achieve a uniform blend.) When using ready-mix concrete, gradually add the P.P concrete fibers into the truck mixer and continue mixing at high speed until you ensure complete distribution of the fibers within the concrete. (Do not add the fibers to dry materials under any circumstances.)

Approximate consumption rate of P.P concrete fibers

For each cubic meter, 0.5 to 2 kilograms.

Frequently Asked Questions

Polypropylene (P.P) glass fibers made from polypropylene chips are used to enhance the tensile and flexural strength of structures and to prevent the formation of surface and deep cracks in concrete and mortar.

It is 12 millimeters.

Yes, P.P fibers can be incorporated into concrete and mortar, significantly reducing cracks during pouring and cementing.

For each cubic meter, 0.5 to 2 kilograms can be used, and the mix ratio is approximately ten grams of P.P concrete fibers plus one liter of water.

If P.P fibers are added to the concrete at the end, they should be placed in the mixer and mixed for 3 to 4 minutes to achieve a homogeneous and uniform mixture.
