Training in Waterproofing Rooftops with Cement Surfacing

Training in Waterproofing Rooftops with Cement Surfacing

Surface preparation involves thorough cleaning and removal of weak areas to ensure optimal adhesion. Deep cracks are repaired with a mortar containing N50 additive, concrete adhesive, cement, and silica powder, followed by sufficient drying time. The waterproofing process uses multiple coats of Z90 resin-based adhesive and a silica-cement slurry, applied in alternating layers to achieve a durable, seamless waterproof barrier suitable for concrete pool structures.

Table of Contents

The first stage:

thoroughly clean the work surface by removing all dust, grease, petroleum substances, and any other materials that might prevent adhesion and penetration of products. Using a chisel, iron chisel, or grinding stone, carefully scrape and remove all weak or unstable areas of the surface.

The second stage:

In cases where deep cracks are extensive on the work surface, we first create a repair mortar using N50 additive and concrete adhesive (one unit of N50 adhesive and additive + five units of water + cement and SI30 silica or sieved stone powder). We apply this mortar onto the cracks to fill all existing pores and voids. Then we allow sufficient time for the repair mortar to completely dry. (The drying time varies depending on environmental conditions and ambient temperature.)

The third step:

  1. First, mix the Z90 waterproofing adhesive and resin with water in a 1:1 ratio, and apply two coats on the surface, allowing each layer to dry before applying the next.
  2. Prepare a relatively thin slurry using Z90 waterproofing adhesive and resin + one unit of water + one unit of cement and two units of SI30 silica, and apply in two stages, allowing each layer to dry before the next application.
  3. Repeat the first stage (one unit of Z90 waterproofing adhesive and resin + one unit of water, two coats with intervals between layers for drying).
